Minutes, every session

Not 30. Not 20 with a junior. The full 45 minutes, with your treating physio, every time.

One-on-one, always

No handoffs to assistants or students. Your physio is with you for the entire appointment.

Unnecessary sessions

We'll show you the research and tell you honestly how many sessions you need. Not more.

What we treat

From a fresh ankle sprain to a year-long running injury that's beaten every previous attempt at treatment — we work with a small number of conditions, and we work with them properly.

Sports injury rehabilitation

Muscle tears, tendinopathies, ligament sprains, overuse injuries — assessed properly, loaded progressively, and managed with a clear return-to-sport plan. We work with athletes of every level, from weekend runners to competitive club players.

Your physios

Two practitioners, two complementary areas of expertise. You'll always see the same person — the one who knows your history and your goals.

Thandi Mokoena

MSc Physiotherapy · Running Biomechanics

Thandi co-founded Harbour Physio after several years at Groote Schuur Hospital's sports medicine unit. Her clinical focus is running biomechanics and sports injury — she built the gait lab from the ground up and has analysed the mechanics of hundreds of Cape Town runners. She's also a Comrades Marathon finisher, which is less a boast than a useful signal: she understands what runners are trying to preserve, and she won't tell you to stop running unless it's genuinely the only option.

Pieter du Toit

MSc Physiotherapy · Post-Operative Rehab

Pieter joined Harbour Physio from the same Groote Schuur background, bringing a specialism in post-operative shoulder and knee rehabilitation. He works closely with orthopaedic surgeons across Green Point and the City Bowl, managing patients through ACL reconstructions, rotator cuff repairs, and joint replacements. His approach is protocol-driven and evidence-based — if the research says six weeks of protected loading, that's what he'll tell you, not what you want to hear.

How to book an appointment

We don't do online booking — a quick call or WhatsApp message is the fastest way to find a time that works. We'll confirm your appointment, let you know what to expect, and answer any questions before you arrive.

Most new patients are seen within the week. If your situation is more urgent, say so — we'll do what we can.

No online booking system — call or WhatsApp to arrange your appointment.

Medical aid — a note on how this works

Harbour Physio is contracted out of all medical aids. This means you pay for your session at the time of appointment, and we provide you with a detailed itemised statement — including ICD and procedure codes — to submit directly to your scheme for reimbursement. Most open schemes reimburse physiotherapy claims promptly. We're happy to answer questions about this before your first appointment.
